Fresh Kitchen is one of our favorite go to places when we want a healthy and fresh meal. The food is always reliable- good quality and without all the junk that other places put in their food plus they only use 100% avacado oil. Their menu is all gluten free but you would not guess as it taste better than most gluten meals. The only draw back is that sometimes their portions are a bit small - they need to allow their workers to give a full scoop and not shake the extras out of the serving utensils.
Overview
Walking into Fresh Kitchen New Tampa for the first time, I remember noticing how calm the space felt compared to the usual fast-casual rush. It sits at 8648 Hunters Village Rd, Tampa, FL 33647, United States, tucked into a busy part of town where quick lunches usually mean compromises. That first visit was during a workday lunch break, and what stood out immediately was how smoothly the ordering process flowed. You start by choosing a base, add proteins, pile on vegetables, and finish with sauces that actually taste house-made. It felt closer to building a meal at home than grabbing something on the go, which is probably why locals keep recommending this location in their reviews.
The menu focuses on clean, thoughtfully prepared food, but it never feels restrictive. Iโve brought friends here who count macros and others who just want something filling, and both groups found something they liked. Options like roasted sweet potatoes, herb-grilled chicken, and seasonal veggies make it easy to customize a bowl that works for different diets. According to guidance shared by organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, meals built around vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats support long-term wellness, and this place quietly aligns with those principles without preaching them. You just eat well and feel good afterward.
What adds credibility is the consistency. Over multiple visits, the food quality has stayed the same, whether I stopped by early afternoon or closer to dinner. That reliability is something many restaurant locations struggle with as they grow, but this spot seems to have its processes locked in. Ingredients are prepared fresh daily, proteins are cooked in small batches, and sauces are rotated to keep flavors bright. One staff member once explained how prep teams start early to roast vegetables and marinate proteins so nothing sits too long, which explains why textures stay spot-on even during peak hours.
Customer reviews around New Tampa often mention how accommodating the staff is, and that matches my experience. On one visit, a cashier took extra time to explain sauce pairings for someone with food sensitivities, breaking down which options were dairy-free and which had added sugar. That kind of transparency builds trust, especially for diners who need accurate information. While the menu doesnโt cover every possible allergy, the team is upfront about limitations and happy to help you work around them.
From a broader perspective, Fresh Kitchen has earned attention beyond local word of mouth. Nutrition professionals frequently point to customizable bowl concepts as an effective way to encourage balanced eating because they give diners control without overwhelming them. This approach has been discussed by registered dietitians featured in publications like EatingWell and Harvard Health, which often highlight build-your-own meals as practical for busy schedules. You can see that philosophy in action here, where the layout guides you step by step without rushing the choice.
Location-wise, this New Tampa spot works well for both quick lunches and casual dinners. Parking is straightforward, and the dining area stays clean even when the place fills up. While itโs not a full-service diner, the atmosphere invites you to sit and enjoy your meal rather than dash out. The music stays low, conversations are easy, and the overall vibe feels relaxed.
There are a few limitations worth noting. Seating can be tight during peak hours, and some popular proteins occasionally sell out later in the evening. Still, those gaps are acknowledged openly by the staff, and substitutions are always offered. That honesty, paired with consistently fresh food and a flexible menu, explains why Fresh Kitchen New Tampa has become a go-to for people in the area looking for something better than average without sacrificing convenience.

My favorite place in all of Tampa โ the spot with the cleanest, lightest, and most delicious food. Itโs the only place where I can eat outside my home and still feel at home. The staff is amazing โ everyone is positive, smiling, and genuinely loyal to their regulars. They always do something nice for me. I would never trade this place for anything! A special thank you to the divine Ellie, whose presence, warmth, service, and radiant smile make this place even more special and cozy!
Great spot for healthy salad or rice bowls. They have a lot of options available for green, and proteins, and they have a lot of side options that you can add, as well as dressings. I got the salmon and chickpeas bowl. The salmon was great and seasoned well, soft and not overdone. Chickpeas were also prepared well and werenโt under or over cooked. Everything was delicious. Very clean atmosphere and the servers are friendly and helpful. Kid friendly space and itโs also wheelchair accessible. Parking is free here and they have a big parking lot upfront. Overall definitely recommend this place, itโs a hundred times better than places like chipotle or cava. Check them out!
This is my wifeโs favorite place, and I really like it too. Seriously, if I meet someone there for lunch, and she finds out, I better have brought her home a bowl! The food is great quality, and I donโt feel all nasty after eating there. Just yesterday I went here for lunch with a friend and all the staff smiled and served me well. (I had to go through the line a second time due to getting that bowl for my wife before heading home. Ha! So, that was 2x of service in one day.) I gave 5 stars to the Food and Service, but 4 stars to the atmosphere. The only reason for the 4 stars is that it always feels so feminine in there. Other than that, itโs great. Last thing, a quick shoutout to Ashley that was my cashier yesterday. She was very personable and friendly!
I have been to this location regularly over the past year. Every time no matter the time of day it is kept very clean especially for a fast casual restaurant. The food is always fresh and the taste is consistently delicious! The staff is always kind ,welcoming and really helpful when explaining the menu and concept to new guests. Ellie is by far the best and most helpful behind the counter! She always greets you with her bright smile that makes you think sheโs never had a bad day! Over the past year sheโs been a constant face greeting me at the counter. Our brief yet poignant interactions always leave me with an extra pep in my step! Iโve also seen how incredibly helpful she is to new staff definitely management potential in my eyes!! I love this location and Ellieโs awesome kindness, service, and work ethic and I know you will too!
I recently visited Fresh Kitchen for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warmth and enthusiasm. They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, taking the time to explain our options in a way that was quick and easy to understand. The food was absolutely delicious. The lemonades on the side were the perfect complement, refreshing and perfectly balanced. What stood out even more was the atmosphere. The staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, which created a nice, chill vibe throughout the restaurant. We even had a great conversation with them, which added to the overall experience. I can't recommend Fresh Kitchen enough! Iโm already looking forward to my next visit!
Fresh Kitchen is a solid option for anyone looking for a healthy meal. The menu offers a variety of fresh, balanced choices, with plenty of bowls and toppings that let you customize your meal to your tastes. Everything feels light but satisfying, with lots of vegetables, lean proteins, and grains to choose from. Itโs a good place to grab something nutritious without having to sacrifice flavor. Whatโs nice is the location โ Fresh Kitchen is right next to a few other popular restaurants, which means if youโre with a group that canโt agree on where to eat, youโve got a variety of choices nearby. Itโs convenient for a quick, healthy meal, especially if youโre in the area and looking for something lighter but still filling.
Had an amazing lunch at Fresh Kitchen. They brought back their blackened chicken and it was perfect with the cauliflower mash and the spicy chick peas! The service was quick and the sauce they recommended to pair with the chicken was spot on. Highly recommend for a quick and healthier alternative for any meal.
